Page field configurator

This is an enterprise component and not a tools feature

Can do

1.       Hide field

2.       Change label

3.       Change default values

4.       Make field display only

5.       Mask fields

Configuration

Ø  Navigation to Enterprise Components >> Page and field Configuration >> Page and field configurator

o   In the newer version we have configuration type as standard and masking. Choose the configure type for the component.

Ø  Select our fields

o   In the select field popup screen we have all the pages under the component, select the page on which the field is available

o   This will list all the fields under the page. Select the field which we want to hide and click OK

Ø  Once the fields are selected, we can modify label, hide field, make field display only, make field required and set default value. Select hide field

o   If we are doing the masking, we will have a mask profile pre created.  Clicking on that link will give us the masking configuration (full/partial) along with mask character and length.

Ø  Navigate to map to portal registry tab to select the component register.

Note: in classic design (not fluid) the hide will disorient the order of the page.

Ø   This configuration changes can be done for selected role or selected users in the user list tab.

Ø  This only works with load events (prebuild, rowinit, postbuild and activate) and not with user events (edit and change)
